  • Safe and effective (FDA cleared)
  • LLLT has no side effects
  • Affordable
  • LLLT is a non-invasive procedure which comfortable and easy to undergo
  • Non- invasive and non-pharmacological

  • Treatment times are short

What is Low-Level Laser Therapy?

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that uses lasers, or light energy. They help to encourage hair growth. At the Hair Dr clinics in both Leeds and on Harley Street, the laser devices are used in the treatment are ‘cold lasers’. As a result, they do not give off any heat. Therefore are safe to use, and will not cause damage to the skin or the hair itself.

LLLT is a treatment that can be used for individuals who are experiencing male and female pattern hair loss, which is also known as androgenetic alopecia. It is a genetic condition and it is the most common cause of hair loss in both men and women. Androgenetic alopecia is caused because of a gene that is more sensitive to the effects of Dihydrotestrostone (DHT). DHT can build up in the roots of hair follicles and can cause them to get smaller.

Eventually, the follicles become completely dormant and hair growth stops.

LLLT for hair has been demonstrated to increase cell metabolism and the health of blood vessels in the scalp for thicker, healthier and more resilient hair shafts. Book now for a free consultation with our Hair Loss specialist to discuss if this is a suitable option for you.

How does LLLT work?

The Low-Level Laser Therapy works by energizing and activating the cells within hair follicles to promote growth.

During your LLLT treatment, you will be sat under the laser therapy machine. The hood looks just like a hooded dryer that you would see at a hair salon, and the device holds 272 laser diodes. These emit a particular wavelength and frequency of light, which delivers the LLLT to the follicles.

During the treatment that lasts around 15 minutes, you do not feel anything whilst under the machine. You will need to repeat the LLLT treatments regularly depending on the extent of the hair loss, which will be discussed with your Hair Dr consultant.

Why treat your hair loss with Capillus Laser Therapy?

The Capillus272 OfficePro is an excellent method for treatment of hair loss without the need for drugs or surgery.  Patients are treated on a regular basis with a fortnightly 12 minute sessions. You sit comfortably under the device of 272 laser diodes, similar to the process of a salon hood dryer. The treatment can also be used in conjunction with other therapies and after a hair transplant procedure. This device is easy to use & no side-effects. Unlike topical and oral medications, Capillus laser therapy has no known side effects and is easy to undergo.

How does LLLT works?

Capillus uses the science of photomedicine, providing low-level laser light to the scalp and hair follicles to stimulate cellular activity and promote the flow of blood. The hands-free design makes it easy and comfortable to undergo while you sit under the hood. You can relax while reading or catching up on emails on your mobile device. The device features 272 laser diodes, providing more light energy than any other FDA-cleared light clinical unit for hair restoration.

Why choose LLLT?

To help restore your confidence with immediate results.

Low-Level Laser Therapy treatments work best on patients that have thinning hair or pattern baldness that has been caused by a hereditary condition. Treatments show that results can be seen after 6 months. The decision to use LLLT is a personal choice. Here at the Hair Dr, we will be able to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision that is right for you.

Is it Safe to Use Other Hair Loss Treatments with Capillus?

A question that we are frequently asked is whether it’s safe to use other hair growth products along with our products or use several different hair growth products at the same time. The answer is almost always yes.

Some hair growth products require a prescription. These include androgen blockers like cimetidine and propecia, which we talked about briefly in a recent article. For drugs requiring a prescription, you would definitely want to discuss it with the doctor prescribing the medication.

Aside from that example, above, many of the other products can be used in combination, and, in fact, using hair growth products in combination is often recommended for better and faster results. The advantage of using several treatments in combination is that different treatments target different aspects of hair loss, so, using more than one treatment is a multi-pronged solution.

For example, our Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) works well in combination with a topical treatment like minoxidil and/or an oral drug. Even if you have surgery for hair replacement, your surgeon will likely tell you that using the LLLT is fine once your scalp starts to heal.

In 2019 there are lots of methods to combat hair loss, and new research into hair loss and hair regrowth is happening all the time. Be optimistic, and start treatment for hair loss when you first start to notice it. Treatment is always easier and more effective when the hair follicles are first starting to malfunction.
